Golden Bean Award – third year running |

Hennessy Coffee, has proven once again that it stands amongst the elite coffee roasters in this country by being recognised for the third year running with a medal at the 2009 National CSR Sugar Golden Bean Awards.
In 2007, Hennessy Coffee’s Platinum Blend won the Gold Medal in the Milk-Based category. Then in 2008, the RFA Rainforest Royale Blend won a Bronze Medal in the Filter category. Now, for the third year in a row, Hennessy Coffee has been awarded a medal, this time another bronze and this time in the Espresso category.
The CSR Sugar Golden Bean Roaster Competition, in this its fourth year, attracted over 700 entries from 330 coffee roasters from around the country, making it one of the largest coffee roasting competitions in the world.
The coffees tested over the weekend were made by world class barista champions, David Makin and Tim Adams both Australian Champion baristas. The judges at the event were a selection of coffee roasters, international green bean brokers and coffee growers— overseen by Justin Metcalf, Head Judge for the World Barista Championships.
